Botanist Minimal:
Constructed from sustainably harvested poplar and high grade engineered veneers, the Botanist Minimal has been designed with no visible hardware. It is composed of two distinct elements: a formed bentwood sleeve and a structural brace.
The Art of Reduction:
The minimalistic design is based on a reduction based process. The typical bench was examined and rigorously reduced to its essential elements. The basic components are a bentwood top which transitions into structural legs and a center rib for stability.
Kickstart?
What is Kickstart? A funding platform for creative projects. A new form of commerce and patronage. On Kickstart, a project funding goal and time frame are established. In this case, Botanist Minimal is requesting funding to set up production – includnig tooling, materials purchasing and final packaging to get this piece into production. The funding request ends Friday. So far Botanist has exceeded its goal of $20,000 by $6,405. Five days are left to support this project.

Most of us are familiar with it – some call it the Lipstick Sofa, but this piece is called Bocca. Designed in 1971 by Franco Audtrito & Studio 1965 who created cult objects that later became design icons of their time. Bocca was reissued in 2004 by Heller and is still being produced today. The sofa is indoor / outdoor and is made of a single piece of molded polymer.
