Nambu Tekki Cookware designed by Sori Yanagi in 1999 won the Good Design Award in 2001. What makes this line special, besides its simple good looks, is the thicker iron which helps distribute heat more evenly and the gently curved edges which make pouring from the pan easy.

Introduced at the 2009 ICFF, Confluences by Philippe Nigro for Ligne Roset is a fresh approach to modular seating. The system fits together like puzzle pieces with varying heights, depths and angles to create a really dynamic piece. The piece has been recoginized as a Red Dot Best of the Best distinction and received A Young Design Award at the Milan Furniture Fair (awarded to designers under 35).

A big award for a little table… The Chicago Athenaeum Museum’s Good Design Award went to Altra Design’s Little Partner table designed by Peter Solomon and Toshi Satoji for Milan based Altra Design. The table was noted for its clarity of design and versatility.
In 2004, the company’s Altra-Ergo Chair was awarded the same prize. Altra’s mission is to combining low cost and high design, without sacrifice.
Little Partner is made of premium grade polypropylene with a photo-engraved, scratch resistant top. The table, which is about 20″ square and 18″ high weighs 5 lbs. It is available in ivory, blue, green and anthracite, shown here.
