Saarinen, Sairanen – What’s in a Name?
Eero Saarinen, the Finnish American who was responsible for mid century iconic furniture designs including the Womb chair, Tulip Chair and tables , is well known to most. So who is Eero Sairanen? Well, he’s a guy with an eerily familiar name, who, like his near-homonym, designs contemporary furniture and objects. His studio, located in the motherland, Helsinki Finland, has produced designs that have been manufactured by Ligne Roset, SpHaus and Aarikka, Ltd. He does some interesting work including Flower Ball above and lite table for SpHaus.
