Hidden by Tomek Rygalik for Iker
British Council Design Award 2005. Designed by Tomek Rygalik (designs for Moroso, MTV, Kodak, Bloomingdale's). Hidden is a modular seating system allowing for variety of configurations. Three types of modules can be assembled to form arrangements that create creative spaces for casual meetings or waiting areas. Healthy seating position is attained by ergonomically refined combination of surfaces that support the body of a person providing just the right amount of springiness for comfort. Its distinctive characteristic is a compartment between the seat and backrest that accommodate laptop cases, folder files, newspapers, magazines, etc. while reducing the visual noise of things laying around. The modules are firmly connected with a discreet system of coupling features and fasteners. The system's steadiness is ensured only when assembled together. As a result the 'mysterious' stability of the system is attained.
